Google’s Privacy

Recently Yahoo has agreed that it will delete personal data it collects after 3 months. At the same time MSN has agreed to delete their data after 6 months. Google currently deletes personal data after 9 months. Both Yahoo and MSN are putting pressure on Google to comply and decrease their privacy data retention times. It’s unknown if Google will comply, when in fact the majority of Google users do not mind their information collection. It’s be nice if all the major search engines provided us with the information that they collect. Perhaps then, we’d be more worried about what happens to our personal information that is collected.

Yahoo unveiled on Monday improvements to its Web properties, including customization capabilities for Yahoo Mail and direct integration with third-party sites like Flickr
An advanced Yahoo toolbar also was revealed, featuring constant access to essential tasks. Additionally, the company is providing updates between the Yahoo Music and Yahoo TV sites via Yahoo Updates, offering visibility into online activities of connections across the Yahoo network. My Yahoo, which offers a more personalized interface for Yahoo, is being fitted with the ability to link to third-party applications.
