We all know and love text massaging but SMS rates have doubled over the past three years from .10 to .20. You might assume that with more people text-ing, it’s costing the carrier companies more money, but that is not the case. Fact is text messages travel through the reserved wireless airwaves and have absolutely no impact on the carrier. So why the inflated rates you might ask? Well carriers want to make more and more money on our texting addictions.

Microsoft may release Windows 7 beta at CES

Consumers attending the CES show in January may the the first ones to get a public look at the Microsoft Windows 7 Beta. At its Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles in October, Microsoft said it would release the beta early in 2009. Though nothing has been confirmed, signs are pointing to sometime in January and possibly the CES show in Las Vegas as a likely release date.
